Feel free to ignore this quirky little page with some information on my activities outside the context of my professional life. When not working in an experimental lab somewhere, I tend to divide my time across a variety of hobbies and interests, some of which are presented below.
In 2012, I had the opportunity of working together with a talented illustrator and an excellent programmer. A children’s book about a cute little bat, exclusively for the iPad, was the result. When we released ‘Victor wants to play’ during the National Children’s Bookweek, it was the #1 best-selling app in the Dutch Appstore in the Books category for several days. The book is for children aged 3 years and up and you can buy it here. Think of it as buying us a drink!
Some boys never grow up. Neither have I, and consequently, I still read graphic novels (‘comics’), sci-fi, listen to loud and obnoxious music, and watch a lot of movies. And whenever I feel like it, I force my opinions on you at the infamous kingdom of nerdness which is called Dorkside. I won’t tell you which anonymous writer I am, but you can find out if you want to. Cheers!
Playing guitar in novelty popband Zomotta (roughly translated: ‘that’s how to do it!’). Sounds like Pixies, Johnny Thunders, The Fall, and the Strokes. Well, that’s what the experts say anyway. Although we toured extensively a few years ago, currently, we are mainly a studioproject. Yet, BJ and I do expect our next album to see the light of day within a decade or so. It just… needs…. a few.. more… tweaks…….
